OUR STORY
Where it all begins...
In 1984, Taher Ben Tanfous and his partners founded the Toumana hotel club in Djerba. This Amazigh feminine name, rooted in Djerbian history, carried from its very first day the soul of a place devoted to hospitality.
After several lives, including that of Fiesta Beach 4★, the name Toumana persisted within the family: a promise in suspense, awaiting a return to its roots.
A home that grows
In the early 2000s, Les Jardins de Toumana was born as an intimate residence: 12 apartments nestled in a peaceful garden. Hospitality was discreet, familial, carried by Taher and his wife.
In 2010, Farhat and Hedi Ben Tanfous, the second generation, opened the restaurant, built the pool with Mediterranean views, and added private beach access.
A living place
From 2012, under Lazhar's direction, Toumana opened to culture: Djerba's first Christmas market, music festivals, exhibitions, concerts. Hospitality transcended accommodation.
Today, a human-scale hotel residence, cultural space, and peaceful refuge, Toumana reinvents hospitality without ever forgetting where it came from.
